The 5 Best Hidden Beaches in Jeju Nobody Talks About

Everyone goes to Hyeopjae and Hamdeok. They’re beautiful — but packed in summer. After spending years on this island, I’ve found beaches that most tourists never discover.

1. Sinyang Seopjikoji Beach

Located near the famous Seopjikoji cape in East Jeju, this small beach sits in a sheltered cove with almost no visitors. The water is impossibly clear and shallow.

How to get there: Drive to Seopjikoji and walk past the main viewpoint toward the eastern tip.

2. Woljeongri Beach (Off-Peak Hours)

Woljeongri is becoming popular, but arrive before 8am or after 6pm and you’ll have the turquoise water almost entirely to yourself. The shallow sandbars stretch out for hundreds of meters.

3. Geumneung Beach

On the west coast, Geumneung is a local favorite that rarely appears in travel guides. The sunsets here are world-class.

4. Hwasun Beach

Black sand. Volcanic rocks. Dramatic cliffs. Hwasun on the south coast feels completely different from anywhere else on the island.

5. Pyoseon Beach

The longest beach in Jeju — and somehow still quiet on weekdays. Great for long walks at sunrise.

The best beaches in Jeju aren’t on the tourist maps. Explore a little and you’ll find them.
